Active Isolated StreTching

It is a method of stretching that involves holding the stretch for only 2 seconds. This method, created by Aaron Mattes is also known to work with the body's natural physiological makeup to improve circulation and increase the elasticity of muscle joints and fascia.Performing an Active Isolated Stretching of no longer than 2.0 seconds allows the target muscles to optimally lengthen without triggering the protective stretch reflex and subsequent reciprocal antagonist muscle contraction as the isolated muscle achieves a state of relaxation.

Osteopathic Techniques

It was founded by Andrew Taylor Still in 1874. Three techniques used at my office are safe and gentle. Soft tissue technique: This approach applies pressure to the muscle area around the spine. It consists of rhythmic stretching, deep pressure and traction. Muscle energy technique: With this technique, the patient is directed to use his or her muscles from a precise position and in a specific direction against a counterforce applied by the Doctor. Counterstrain technique: During this approach, the patient is moved away from a position where motion i

THAI Yoga Massage

It is believed to have been developed by Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha, physician to Buddha, more than 2,500 years ago in India. It made its way to Thailand where the Ayurvedic techniques and principles gradually became influenced by Traditional Chinese Medicine. For centuries, Thai yoga massage was performed by monks as one component of Thai medicine. Therapist uses his or her hands, knees, legs and feet to move patient into a series of yoga-like stretches. Muscles compression, joint mobilization, and acupressure are also used during treatment.

Tuina Therapy

This is a form of Chinese manipulative therapy, that employs finger pressure, stretching and rolling, stimulating energy channels in the body and acupuncture points. It is often used in conjunction with acupuncture, to treat both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions such as low- back pain, frozen shoulder, knee pain. Also tuina can treat many non-musculoskeletal conditions such as digestive problems, tension headache, and insomnia.

Sports Massage

This is a special form of massage and is typically used before, during, and after athletic events. The purpose of the massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries.

Deep Tissue

This is a massage technique that focus on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fiber's of the muscles, tendons and fascia. Deep tissue helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue.

Applied Kinesiology

Applied Kinesiology is a system , created by Georges Goodheart, DC, that evaluates structural, chemical and mental aspects of health using manual muscle testing with other standard method of diagnosis. The doctor using AK finds a muscle that is unbalanced and then attempts to determine why that muscle is not functioning properly. The doctor works out the treatment that will best balance the patients muscles. This system is use at my office to involve actively patients into their own recovery from the imbalances found. Usually, patients come out with a homework exercise to help them to move on from a chronic condition. From my experience, this method has been found effective in treating emotional and mental distresses that are often at the root of chronic injury, repetition of self-destructive behavior, destructive thinking, lack of focus/ attention, lack of self-estime, and difficulty in learning new skills.

Cranial Release Technique

Cranial Release Technique (CRT) is a natural, hands-on approach to releasing the body's inborn capacity to heal and regenerate itself. The 22 bones of the head (cranium) move in a rhythmic pattern throughout life. This movement of the bones of the head is responsible for the proper function of the nervous system and for optimum health. When the skull is distorted and this movement is disturbed, overall health and well being suffers and pain or illness may result. Proper movement of the cranial bones can be restored using the CRT hands-on method and a return to good health follows.
